MNTRH STAFF SENSITIZATION-NEUROPSYCHIATRIC GENETICS STUDY AMONG AFRICAN POPULATIONS.
NEUROPSYCHIATRIC GENETICS STUDY AMONG AFRICAN POPULATIONS
Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital (MNTRH), in partnership with Aga Khan University and the Broad Institute, is conducting the NeuroGAP-P study to explore the relationship between genetics and mental health in Africa. MNTRH staff has been sensitized about this ongoing research.
Eligibility Criteria:
* Diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, or Psychosis.
* Aged 18 or older.
* Not currently an inpatient for psychiatric, alcohol, or substance abuse care.
* Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
Participants will provide a saliva sample and answer questions about their language, family history, mental health, and environment. Compensation will be provided for time and transport.
Study Location:
Consultation rooms adjacent to the MNTRH outpatient clinic.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
